Champagne Pol Roger
It was 1849 when Pol Roger sold his first wine. As the company flourished, it moved to Epernay, where it is still based today. In 1899, when its founder died, the brand was already enjoying a very good reputation. It lasted only about thirty years...
Exports advanced and many crowned heads became customers of the brand. The best restaurants on the Champs-Elysées served Pol Roger, but the First World War put an end to this expansion.
Prohibition in the United States and the Russian Revolution made exports difficult. Yet Pol Roger Champagne is exported to more and more countries. The direct control of the founding family over the company guarantees the permanent identity of Pol Roger wines.
One of the brand's most interesting customers is Winston Churchill. This British statesman was an unwavering client of the company.
In 1955, a general improvement in sales can already be felt. The range of wines had expanded and this gave further impetus to the development of Pol Roger's fame.
The famous Cuvée Winston Churchill was born in 1975 and was launched at Blenheim Palace in magnums only.
